Overview

About Continuum Attractions

Continuum Attractions is a leading operator of visitor attractions across the UK, managing a portfolio that includes York’s Chocolate Story, The Real Mary King’s Close, The Loch Ness Centre, and Oxford Castle & Prison.

The company specialises in creating immersive visitor experiences that combine education, heritage and entertainment, attracting guests from across the UK and overseas.

Opportunity

Acquiring a landmark Second World War heritage attraction

As part of its ongoing growth strategy, Continuum sought to acquire Eden Camp – one of the UK’s most distinctive military history museums.

Alongside strengthening Continuum’s portfolio of visitor attractions, the deal also presented an opportunity to breathe new life into a nationally significant heritage site.

Originally constructed in 1942 to house Italian prisoners of war, the site was transformed into a museum in the 1980s, and has become widely recognised for its immersive interpretation of life during the Second World War.

Open seasonally between March and November, Eden Camp welcomes approximately 125,000 visitors each year, and has established itself as a notable educational and heritage attraction in North Yorkshire.

Impact

Successful acquisition expands Continuum’s visitor attraction portfolio

The completion of the acquisition adds Eden Camp to Continuum Attractions’ growing portfolio of heritage and visitor destinations.

The transaction supports Continuum’s long-term growth strategy, while ensuring the continued development of a popular attraction that welcomes around 125,000 visitors each year.

The acquisition also creates opportunities for ongoing investment in the museum – cementing its educational value and preserving its unique approach to storytelling for years to come.
